Panama

Republic Panama (the population - 2,56  million persons) occupies narrow, arabesquely curved isthmus which bridges Central America with Southern and simultaneously abjoints Atlantic ocean from Silent. In country Panama capital third of all population of republic is concentrated almost. A state language - Spanish.

The country History is unseparably bound to its geographical position on intersection of the important marine and trading pathes. For 300  years of colonial Spanish possession isthmus of Panama has been transformed into a transfer point for a gain Central and the South America. Independence of Panama has been intoned in 1821, but to 1903  year it on a voluntary basis understood Colombia. Is strategic the important position of the country has led to building here in 1914 of the interocean canal which use has been usurped the USA. Till now in region of Panama canal remain about 14 American forts.

The Majority of the population of Panama (67 %) Spanish-American Indian mongrels compound. The rests of American Indian nations (kunas, chokoes and guajjamis) compound only 7 %, they live in the core in remote regions. Nearby 15 % Negroes compound. The great bulk of the population occupied in a service trade, concentrates in region which is bordering on to the canal. Here there are the largest cities - capital the city of Panama and the city of Colon.

Panama - the tropical country with luxuriant evergreen vegetation, a wet and hot climate with very equal oscillations of temperatures. At coast there is an assemblage of picturesque gulfs and fakes. More than one and a half thousand coral islands border an isthmus. Quite often Panama name kingdom of butterflies (it is known more 1100  aspects).
