Maldives

the Maldivian Republic is had in Southern Asia, on islands of the Maldivian archipelago representing a chain from 20 atolls (over 2000 coral islands) in equatorial waters of Indian ocean, to the southwest from island Sri Lanka . The Total area of Maldives - 298  sq. km. The population - 237  thousand persons, from which 99 % compound maldivtsy - offsprings of natives of Southern Asia and the Near East. Maldivtsy speak in the special tongue - divehi; the state religion - Islam (sunnitskogo sense). The Head of the state - the president. Capital - Male.

Maldive Islands are formed by two parallel circuits of coral atolls. Islands low, are bordered often by barrier reefs. The important element of a landscape of islands are coconut and banana groves. A climate equatorial. Hot weather is kept all year long (temperature from 24 to 30  °C). On islands there are no rivers and loches, and, despite abundant of deposits (about 2000 mm a year), the sweet water deficiency is felt.

the Capital Male - a unique city and archipelago port - is had on the island-archipelago with the same name (the population 55  thousand inhabitants). It is political, cultural and shopping centre in which the significant part of craft effecting is concentrated. Buildings of mosques and a palace of the former plume deposit.
