Kuwait

the State is had in a northeast part of Arabian peninsula, on the low deserted plateau gradually downgraded to the east, towards Persian gulf. In the north and the northwest bounds with Iraq , in the south and the southwest - with Saudi Arabia , in the east it is flowed about by waters of Persian gulf. A number of adjoining islands refers to to Kuwait also: Fajlaka, Bubijan, Varba, etc. the Square - 17,8  thousand sq. km, the population - 1,4  million persons. The head of the state - the emir. The state religion - Islam. Capital - Al Kuwait.

In the north of Kuwait there is flat stony desert covered with rubble, in the central and southern parts - slightly vsholmlennaja sand desert; in the east the terrain is recut by deep canyons - vadi. The coast is bordered by sand-bars and lagoons.

During bolshej to a part of year in the country there is a resistant to hot weather. Deposits fall out seldom and do not exceed 100-200  mm a year. In the summer, approximately from May till October, dry pulverulent northwest winds (shimal) which create an aerosphere udushlivosti predominate. The Most favourable time in Kuwait - winter, in December-January warm sunny days with temperature 12-14  °C predominate.

In the country there are either no rivers with a constant flow, or loches; therefore the sweet water problem was the sharpest problem of Kuwait a long time. However, being one of the largest world suppliers of oil, Kuwait has dared to create the special industry on a distillation of sea-water and now on power of desalinating plants comes first in the world.

Approximately the third part of inhabitants emirata lives in capital - Al Kuwait (44,3  thousand inhabitants). In a modern and beautiful city central banks and trading forms are concentrated, there is a university and the international airport. Through seaport Al Kuwait passes the bulk of the goods imported by the country. The second-large city - the Mine-ale-ahmadi is main petroexport port of the country.

On island Fajlaka which has been invaded in 3 millenary B.C., archaeological reservation is created.
