Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau - the small state in the Western Africa, at coast of Atlantic ocean. The country terrain consists of a continental part and assemblage (nearby 60) neritic islands. A total area - 36,1  thousand sq. km. Till 1973. Guinea-Bissau was colony of Portugal. An official language - Portuguese.

Almost all continental terrain of Guinea-Bissau - vile plain which is recut by the numerous high-water rivers running into ocean wide funneled ustjami. The fauna is too hardly depauperated by the person. Only here and there it is possible to meet river horses, water buffaloes, leopards, antelopes though monkeys are numerous enough. The rivers and the neritic seas of the country are rich with fish.

The Population of Guinea-Bissau - nearby 1036  thousand persons. More than thirds are compounded by representatives of the people balante and related it mandzhak, pepel, mankanja, bolu and others, engaging mainly farming agriculture and practising traditional African religions. Other extensive ethnic group - nomads-cattlemen fulbe - practise Islam. Coastal areas where there are also basic cities - Bissau (80  thousand persons are most densely stocked), Bolama, Kasheu, Bafata, Farin.
