Feasts in Thailand

In the country variety of national civil and religious feasts, and also every possible aboriginal festivals is noted. In each of 80 provinces and each of 30000 monasteries of Thailand annually ustaivajutsja the special feasts.

Religious feasts are noted on a lunar calendar, and festivals of provinces are dated for days off. Therefore they are not tied up to concrete dates, and their time-table can be learnt in hotel or in TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) where there is their calendar for a current year. Besides, about terms of conducting of feasts it is possible to read and in the logs which are free of charge passed round in hotels.

2nd week of May. A feast of Bunas Bang Faj.

Day of a full moon in July. Feast Asalaha Pucha.

In memory of the first sermon of the Buddha this day in all frames there pass processions with candles. In Ubonratchathani the noisy national feast candles of huge sizes become which main attribute is had.

In Chiang Mai on feast Ji Peng start the paper balloons inflated with hot air. And in Sukhotae there passes the colourful festival, involving hundred thousand spectators.

November. A temple feast in Nakhonpathome.

The End of November. A taming of elephants in Surin.

The World's largest representation including elephants in which participate to 100 animals - purely tourist show which does not have equal.

November/December. Week of the river Kvaj.

The Feast is spent on a boundary of November/December in Kanchanaburi. The majestic show round the mors railway involves thousand tourists.
