Growth of world cities during an epoch of the serotinal Middle Ages, development of public life, craft and municipal unions have called to life emersion of some the public buildings builted in gothic style (church, town halls, the markets). With the course of time, complicating the ornamental pattern, the Netherlands architecture from style of a tertiary gothic has passed in baroque.

In the Netherlands exists more than 20 historical small towns and villages. One of the most popular Delft - cтаринный, well saved small town in an hour of driving from the Hague. The beautiful trading square, a cathedral, a town hall, narrow canals with picturesque walkways and almost toy small houses with gardens along canals fascinate. the Historical world famous campus Leiden has the picturesque ancient centre with beautiful fronts of dwellings, canals and bridges. It is the centre of fairs and the known markets.

In small ancient fishing small village Volendam numerous tiny houses of fishermen along canals were saved. There and then it is possible to see traditional national suits.

And the fishing village Marken stood on island before loch Zjujderzee unwatering. Many wood dwellings on the piles, builted for protection against inundations which regularly filled in island were saved. Modern inhabitants here wear suits which remained immutable since XVII century.

Well-known Arnhem - province capital, a city of parks on the river Rhine.

In the historical city of Hurn on the former loch Zjujderzee the centre and the buildings builted in XV-XVII centuries, and also urban gate, chamber of scales and college were well saved. In a city there is an interesting Museum of history of the East Indian company and archeology Hurna and Western Frislandii.
