Rostock, Stralsund, Wismar

 

Cities have originated in days of German expansion to the East, on slavonic lands. They have attained blossoming in the Middle Ages when have entered into the Ganzejsky union of cities.

 

 

Rostock

Rostock (247 thousand inhabitants) - ganzejsky a city on the river Varnau, attained blossoming in XIV-XV centuries. After the termination of existence of Hansa in 1667  to year as a result of Thirty-year war the city became German port of an average value. In 1419  to year the first university in Northern Europe here is created. Nowadays Rostock - the large cultural centre and large ocean port. The city has saved the ancient centre ganzejskoj epoch that gives it the special colour, but it only a small part of buildings, other has been destroyed during air bombings during the Second World War. Ferry passing nearby binds outport Varnemjunde to Denmark. In a city there is a cultural history museum, it has taken places in a building of the former abbey where one time was an educational institution for women from noble monogynopaediums.

Wismar

Wismar (60  thousand persons) has got the urban driver's licence in 1229  to year. It is large seaport, the large shipyard producing marine passenger steam-ships here is had. The city is famous for architecture of buildings, ancient structures XIV-XVI of centuries here were saved.

  Stralsund

Штральзунд Stralsund (75  thousand inhabitants) too it is rich with ancient monuments as entered into the Ganzejsky union. The town hall of North German gothic style builted in XIII century was saved.
