country Monetary unit - escudo (PTE). The national currency quotation.

The Portuguese escudo (from isp. escudo - the board) conducts the family tree from with the same name Portuguese gold (3,4  coins which was pinched out still in ÕV a century. Pristine monetary unit of Portugal from a time of introduction of a gold standard (1854) on 1910 became milrejs (i.e. one thousand reals). To exchange HARD CURRENCY it is possible in domestic banks, numerous intercharge points. In Portugal the general rule acts: it is more favourable to exchange the money for the domestic currency away from the blazed tourist itineraries, it is better in the afternoon, than in the evening, and furthermore at night. On charge cards in the cash dispenses installed in branches of banks, large shopping centres national currency purchasing is restricted to the weekly sum 40000 escudos.
