History of Yugoslavia

For a long time the people of Yugoslavia were under the power of Turkish Ottoman empire. After Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 Serbia and Montenegro have gained independence. Upon termination of the First World War the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, in 1929 renamed into Yugoslavia has been formed. In it, except Serbia and Montenegro, have entered Vojvodina, Slovenia, Dalmatia, Croatia and Slavenija, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the Second World War the Federal National Republic Yugoslavia (since 1963 has been intoned - Socialist Federal Republic Yugoslavia) which included six republics - Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1991 Yugoslavia has disintegrated, in its composition there was only Serbia and Montenegro, other republics became independent states. As a result Serbia and Montenegro have compounded the new state - Union republic Yugoslavia.
