Faeroe

Faeroes (Faeroerne, Farery), the possession of Denmark occupying over 20 islands in the northeast of Atlantic ocean in Norwegian sea. A possession total area - 1398,8  sq. km. On islands live 47  thousand persons, mainly farertsy. By Official languages on islands are recognised Danish and farersky. The Lutheranism is overtopping religion of the population. An administrative centre of Faeroes - the city of Thorshavn with the population 15,6  thousand persons. In the administrative attitude of island are subdivided on 8  ranges.

Faeroes - a vulcanic parentage, altitude to 882  m. of the Shore of islands are hardly cut up by fjords. For landscape Farer pratums, peat beds, heathlands are characteristic. Farersky rocks - a favourite place for ptichih markets.
