Bosna i Hercegovina

the Republic Bosnia and Herzegovina places in terrain of two historical ranges - Bosnia occupying a valley of the river of Sava both its inflows, and Herzegovina which is to the south, in drainage basin neretvy. The country square compounds 51,1  thousand sq. km. And  till October, 1991 Bosnia and Herzegovina was a part of federal Yugoslavia in the capacity of one of its republics. At once after declaration of independence in the country the bloody civil war between the people occupying it - Serbs, Croats and bosnijtsami-Moslems has flared. In the end of 1995 in Dayton (USA) have been entered into nonpredatory agreements which have officially fixed separation of the country into practically independent two national-territorial educations: The musulmansko-Croatian federation with capital to Sarajevo and Republic Serbian with capital in a city the Forest fire. The central government into which representatives of both parts of the country enter, has purely nominal authority.

The Population of Bosnia and Herzegovina - 4,4  million persons, from them approximately 31 % - Serbs, 49 % - Moslems and 17 % - Croats. All of them speak in Serbo-Croatian tongue.

Almost all terrain of Bosnia and Herzegovina is occupied with mounts. Only in the north of the country, along the river of Sava, the narrow strip of lowlands lasts. The strip nizkogory and the fertile intermountain hollows passing in Dinarsky uplands in altitude to 2000-2400  to the south lasts; m. Slopes of mounts are covered dubovo-beechen, spruce and pine forests. The climate in valleys moderately continental, in mounts it becomes cool and wet. On Dinarsky uplands picturesque karstic caves are numerous.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina many architectural monuments as byzantian, and osmanskogo the season were saved.

Bosnia and Herzegovina - one of the world centres of mountain-skiing tourism. The assemblage of winter resorts is had in neighbourhoods of the city of Sarajevo where in 1984 winter Olympic plays were spent. However for years of a civil war the infrastructure of winter rest has been largely destroyed.
