Belarus

Byelorussia - the state in the Eastern Europe. Bounds on Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland.

Terrain - 207,6  thousand in km 2. The population - 10,43  million persons (1996). Capital - Minsk (1,7 million persons). The State language - Belarus. The head of republic - the president.

National composition: Byelorussians - 80 %, Russian - 13,2 %, Poles - 4,1 %, Ukrainians - 2,9 %, etc. 70 % of believers - orthodox christians, about 20 % - Greek-Catholics, iudaisty.

Belarus - the flat country. The climate which has been had on the Belarus row, is lifted all on 345  m above sea level. The Climate in Belarus is moderate-continental. Average temperature of January from-4 °C in the southwest to-8  °C in the northeast, average temperature of July 17-19  °C. Deposits 550-700  mm a year. The main rivers: Dnepr with inflows (Berezina, Pripyat, Sozh), Zapadnaya Dvina, Neman, Bug. It is a lot of loches. About 1/3 terrains it is covered by conifers and mixed forests (the pine, a spruce predominate).
